In addition to meaningful and serious moments on Oscar night, such as The Cove’s win as Best Feature Documentary, there were also silly, trivial, and even bizarre ones as well. But perhaps my favourite that night came not during the show, but afterwards as I happened to catch part of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Unbeknownst to me, apparently he has a history of premiering signature comedy pieces after the Academy Awards show. I’ll have to remember that because what a routine it was this year.

Jimmy Kimmel presided over a meeting of the Handsome Men’s Club, a round table gathering of sorts. He explained that, “On a night like tonight — the night of the Academy Awards — beauty is not only on display, it’s analyzed, it’s evaluated, experts are flown in to determine who wore it best, lists are made to determine who is hot and who is not hot and that’s why I personally am happy to be part of an organization that supports beautiful people like myself.”

One celebrity handsome man after another kept appearing. You, or at least I, never knew who would pop up next, or what they would say. I won’t spoil the surprises for those of you who haven’t seen it, but if you feel like a laugh or two, or several, here’s the video of this nine minute comic routine. One of the most unexpected and well-structured ensemble comedy bits I’ve seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
