Award-winning actress Kathleen Gati has just said some very nice things about my novel, Life’s Attic. I feel truly honoured.
“Just finished reading your book. WOW!!! It is truly a beautiful study of pure love, devotion, life, death and so much more. I savored every word and truly enjoyed it! I look forward to reading your next one!”

To know that thoughts and words that I’ve strung together in private can now move others elsewhere in the world is nearly indescribable. But I’ll try. 🙂
When I set out to write this novel, I had a very clear vision of what I wanted it to be and most importantly, of who these characters were, who they were telling me they were. So much of writing is about listening I think – whether it’s to your inner voice telling you to follow a dream, or to the voices of characters that you create who in turn tell you what they’re going to do. That may sound strange, but often it’s what it feels like.
At its best, writing is almost like some sort of weird solitary collaboration. So in that sense, I didn’t feel alone – I was with the characters while I was writing. But it was still just me at the computer or walking around thinking about writing. And now, other people are reading those words and getting to know the characters I love so much. It’s so heartening to hear how people are responding to the story that I just had to tell. Thank you all.
The book was so very special. Please let me know when the next one comes out! There were times when I felt you (from so many years ago) and that warmth just emanated throughout the story. I was totally taken up in the precious moments. Thank you Elizabeth! Laila
